4 Reasons to Love the 2019 RAM1500
Originally manufactured as part of Dodge’s lineup, the RAM pickup truck proved to be so popular that it is now made by its own brand, named RAM Trucks. While it was conceived and initially produced as a lightweight truck, the RAM has evolved over the years and has produced bulkier models under its Heavy Duty line. As such, there’s plenty of speculation about just what the 2019 RAM 1500 will look like. Based on what we know so far, we’ve outlined a few of the reasons you’re bound to love this redesigned pickup.
Material, Design, and Safety
By all accounts, the 2019 RAM 1500 is poised to be a massive vehicle. But that doesn’t mean its construction is all bulk and no finesse. Instead, the new RAM is expected to be made with lighter materials in addition to the standard steel frame. This will provide better fuel efficiency and load capacity. Further, the front grille on the new RAM has been shortened in an effort to provide the truck with better aerodynamics.
While the manufacturers have stayed true to the RAM’s past, they’ve also looked to the future. The 2019 RAM 1500 is expected to embrace the modern safety features that have been absent from its predecessors. Early glimpses of the pickup indicate that it will come with blind spot monitoring and traffic detection systems.
Power
A large pickup would be nothing without a powerful engine under its hood and the 2019 RAM 1500 doesn’t disappoint. The new RAM will likely be powered by a Hemi 5.7-liter V8 engine, reflecting the popularity of the engine in its current RAM models. However, other options are likely to exist. The 2019 RAM 1500 may be the first RAM with an available direct injection gasoline V6 engine, capable of generating up to 320 horsepower. Depending upon the version selected, drivers will have access to either a six-speed or eight-speed automatic transmission.
Interior Comfort
The 2019 RAM 1500 should have more cabin space than previous versions of the pickup, and the manufacturer has packed every inch of it with features and amenities that drivers are sure to love. A vertical touchscreen provides entertainment and navigation information, and it may be available in different sizes for each trim. Climate control systems ensure that drivers and passengers travel in comfort. An extended Mega Cab may be available at additional cost.
Price Point and Availability
The basic trim of the 2017 RAM pickup starts at an MSRP of $26,495. The 2019 RAM 1500 is expected to fall roughly within this range, and it may enter production as soon as January 2018. This means that drivers can look forward to getting their hands on the new RAM very soon—and at a price that won’t break the bank, either.
